Aristeus was the son of Apollo and the huntress Cyrene.
He was worshiped in ancient Greece as the protector of hunters, shepherds and herds and also considered the pioneer of beekeeping and olive groves.
The original sculpture is from François Joseph Bosio, a french artist from the eighteenth-century. The references i've used to do this 3D "tribute" are from the Louvre Museum.
Everything was made in Zbrush. With Zspheres and simple primitives.
The render is 3dsMax / Mental ray.
